Impeachment: Threats and the Constitutional Challenge

On the eve of the impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump, just weeks after the violence at the Capitol, the Reiss Center and Just Security held a discussion on the constitutional and national security issues surrounding the proceedings against the former president. Moderated by Dean Trevor Morrison, this panel of leading scholars and former government lawyers delved into the case against President Trump—including the legal questions surrounding the trial and the broader context and purpose of impeachment in our democracy.
