The Center on Law and Security and Students for the Education and Representation of Veterans (SERV), a new student group at NYU School of Law dedicated to veterans’ advocacy, hosted a discussion titled “Civil/Military Relations for a New Era,” by Lieutenant General (Ret.) David W. Barno, senior advisor and Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security.  His talk touched on a wide range of themes, including veterans’ reintegration, the military’s culture of service, and the role of the military in American society after over a decade at war. Lt. Gen. Barno’s talk also celebrated NYU School of Law’s new commitment, through its participation in the Yellow Ribbon program, to cover the cost of tuition and fees for eligible veterans during the 2013-2014 school year.
