Speaker Bio
Kelly L. Razzouk is Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Democracy and Human Rights at the White House National Security Council. Prior to this role, Kelly was Acting Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy to the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
Kelly started her career as a U.S. State Department Intern and later became a Presidential Management Fellow after graduating from law school in Chicago (DePaul University College of Law). While at DePaul, Kelly was a Sullivan Human Rights Law Fellow. Throughout her career, Kelly worked in a number of State Department Bureaus, including: the Office of the Geographer for Global Issues, the Bureau of Democracy Human Rights and Labor, the Bureau of International Organizations, at the U.S. Embassy Amman Jordan, and as a member of the U.S. delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Kelly has spent much of her career advancing key U.S. foreign policy priorities at the United Nations. In New York, Kelly served as human rights advisor to Ambassador Susan Rice, and then as Senior Policy Advisor to Ambassador Samantha Power where she led human rights policy and political prisoner advocacy. Kelly also spent two years representing the International Rescue Committee at the United Nations and as Director of Policy and Advocacy.
